Our Story
Sidekick Sunny™ was created by three dedicated women who, having experienced the effects of bullying from different perspectives – as a victim, a mother of a bullied daughter, and a mother of a socially and emotionally sensitive son – were inspired to make a positive impact.
To us, Sidekick Sunny™ is more than just a product—it's a tangible source of support, understanding, and reassurance for children facing emotional struggles, particularly in the school environment. Sunny is a unique character designed to appeal across gender lines, embodying acceptance, non-judgment, and representing the love and care of absent caregivers.
Below is a message from one of our cofounders, Meg:
"Having personally faced bullying from 8th-grade through senior high, I understand the profound impact it can have. In that isolating environment, I felt like the entire world was against me. The eight hours spent at school, where I felt the loneliest and most vulnerable, were agonizing. College became a turning point, bringing more happiness and a clearer perspective on the challenges I had faced at school. Still, my heart ached for children enduring mistreatment and exclusion by their peers. This led me to create Sidekick Sunny, a symbol of familial love and support. In challenging moments, whether bullied or other, Sunny serves as a comforting reminder that, even in the absence of parents or loved ones, children remain cherished, valuable, and worthy of love and respect. It is my hope that Sunny can also act as a symbol, encouraging others to pause and embrace kindness. Sunny stands as an inspiration, emphasizing that one's appearance, dress, intelligence, or any other factor does not determine their worth. He is a steadfast reminder that EVERYONE merits love and respect. For those not receiving it at school, let Sunny provide solace, representing the love and support from those who may not physically be there, reminding them that they are loved and hold immeasurable value. Harmony Hearts LLC is a woman-owned small business based in Arkansas. It was established by three women who felt passionate about helping others that may be going through similar issues that they or their children faced.
